I've been a YNAB aspirant since starting this blog. In fact, blogging was meant to be an accountability measure for keeping up with YNAB and making better choices. And yet, I haven't published a full month in review yet.
Because until now, I haven't tracked every. single. cent.
I made it a few weeks at a time, and felt I needed to do a fresh restart after reading some exciting blog. I had to do a major outlay from our emergency fund to move unexpectedly. I through a Pintrest-worthy one-year-old's birthday party. I found every excuse in the book to just not finish tracking a full month.
But now, with a couple hours left in September 2019, I can safely close out our month. I've got to say, I was surprised by how things went.
How we use ynab
so, where did our money go?
We didn't do anything special this month in terms of planning, saving, prepping. In fact, this was a very spendy month for. a few reasons:
What was surprising? where could we be better?
What's the actual "personal finance" learning here?
How are we going to improve next month
Blog posts are all by Mrs. Us in Orlando unless otherwise noted. A former military kid, she's glad to have landed in the sunshine state and enjoys year-round summer sports, making every book a "beach read", waterside walks with the fam, and iced lattes.
