Friends, I'm tired.
The Us in Orlando family has a near-toddler. One who is currently hitting his 10ish month developmental leap. Who, because of all this cognitive development, has turned from a fantastic sleeper to a terrible sleeper. A sleeper who now cries inconsolably at night time, who does not self sooth, who needs a bottle and 90 minutes of cuddle sometime around 2 AM ...
The Us in Orlando family is moving in three weeks. One week, if you count the fact that Mrs. UIO and Baby UIO are taking a trip for nine days between now and then. The precision with which we are packing could certainly *not* be called military, but we're slogging on with 10 hours of childcare planned for this weekend.
Local side hustles are wrapping up. The dog needs to be walked. Chores need to be done.
Running on a week of nights of five hours of sleep or less, I've hit a bone-weary point. I dozed off holding a bottle this morning, my body aches, I've downed half a bottle of excedrine managing headaches. I've spent money on things to try to make things a little easier. If I can't buy sleep, maybe I can at least buy takeout!
So today, on 5/3/19, here's what I've spent
Things I wanted to buy, but didn't: a massage, chocolate cake, ear plugs ...
Blog posts are all by Mrs. Us in Orlando unless otherwise noted. A former military kid, she's glad to have landed in the sunshine state and enjoys year-round summer sports, making every book a "beach read", waterside walks with the fam, and iced lattes.
